Under VOB (especially VOB/C), quantities in the bill of quantities (BoQ) underpin pricing and settlement. They must be determined per the reference rules of the service description and documented in a traceable manner.

- Unambiguous reference dimensions (m, m², m³, pcs)
- Demonstrable derivation from design documents
- No “estimated” quantities without a documented source under review
